Trade and Economic Relations

 

Major economic agreements signed between the sides are follows:

Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on trade and economic cooperation, signed on November 5, 2002, in Dushanbe, which came into force on 15 April 2003;

Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to avoid double taxation of incomes and property and prevention of tax evasion, signed on November 5, 2002, in Dushanbe, which entered into force on 25 February 2004;

An important element of co-ordinating the development and deepening of multilateral cooperation is the Intergovernmental Tajik-Moldova Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, established in 2004.

The first meeting of the Moldovan-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation was held in 2004 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

The second meeting of the Moldovan-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation was held June 29-30, 2015, in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.

Implementation of the third meeting of the Moldovan-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation is planned on 2017 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.

The resumption of its activities will contribute to the promotion and development of bilateral economic relations between Moldova and Tajikistan.

 

The foreign trade turnover between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Moldova for 2015

The foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Tajikistan amounted to 841.2 thousand USD in 2015 and compared to 2014 year decreased by 57.7% or by 1.2 million USD. The magnitude of the volume of trade turnover of Tajikistan occupies 92th place among foreign trade partners of Moldova with a small weight in the total turnover.

The volume of exports from the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Tajikistan amounted to 747.6 thousand USD. Compared with the previous year, exports of goods fell by 62.2% or by 1.2 million USD. Tajikistan occupies 59th place among the countries with which the Republic of Moldova carries out export activities.

The volume of imports for the year 2015 in Moldova Tajikistan amounted to 93.6 thousand US dollars and in comparison with 2014 year, imports of goods increased by 8.5 times or by 82.6 thousand USD. Tajikistan ranks 101 th among the countries with which the Republic of Moldova carries out import activity.

Trade balance positive for the Republic of Moldova and has made 654 thousand US dollars in the period.
